Junior Achievement is a wonderful program at Eastover that seeks to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Eastover’s classroom programs designed for each grade level use engaging activities and materials to educate students on financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. All Junior Achievement classroom programs are volunteer-taught as volunteers bring personal and professional experience to the content. This helps connect what students are learning in school to how it can be applied to the real world.
Junior Achievement volunteers:
- Teach 5 lessons of the Junior Achievement program in a classroom; lessons are 30-45 minutes long.
- Coordinate directly with the teacher to set a schedule of visits.
- Teach the lessons one at a time over several visits to the classroom or all in one visit for approximately 4 hours, known as “JA in A Day.”
Eastover students really enjoy our Junior Achievement programming and many of our parents enjoy engaging with our students in this way. Junior Achievement provides all materials for the program as well as a one-time training for new volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Jessica Borgnis for more info.
