Special Area Classes: In addition to the challenging and innovative instruction in the regular classroom, all students rotate between five special area classes which include Spanish, Technology, Music, Art, Media and Physical Education. These classes work hand in hand with the regular classroom to enrich the academic curriculum.
Exploratory Spanish: All students in grades kindergarden through fifth receive weekly instruction in Exploratory Spanish. Whether Eastover is hosting a Spanish Opera in our auditorium or identifying ways to incorporate Spanish into our core curriculum, students benefit from early exposure to foreign language instruction.
Cultural Arts & STEM Enrichment: Students participate in numerous arts and experimental activities that enrich their learning experience in Science, Social Studies and other areas of the curriculum. They participate in field trips throughout the year to enhance their classroom studies and have special events at school to supplement curriculum. In addition, students also have hands on experience with classroom pets and our Eastover garden.
Chess: Our 1st and 2nd grades also benefit from weekly chess instruction and have the opportunity to join Eastover’s Chess Club, which competes locally against other elementary schools within the region.
